Specialists from the “From Heart to Heart” Foundation completed a series of one-day training sessions for representatives of social services centers for families, children and youth, the police, children’s services, juvenile prevention, the education department, and the department for social protection of the population of the district state administrations of the Cherkasy region.

The purpose of the classes was to teach specialists of the relevant social services to prevent situations of exploitation of children, as well as to be able to identify children who suffered from trafficking situations and provide them with the necessary assistance.

During the training, the participants were taught the criteria for identifying children affected by the situation of trafficking children and the algorithm of actions in case such a child is identified for assistance within the framework of the current legislation. In order to consolidate the knowledge, specialists in the groups defined the signs of the affected children on the example of the proposed real stories.

During the group work, the participants independently developed a mechanism for rendering assistance to a child who suffered from trafficking. The training was carried out within the framework of the project “Development of the capacity of childcare services, as well as personnel of state childcare institutions for guardianship and trusteeship to identify children affected by trafficking in persons and assisting them within the framework of the National Mechanism for Interaction of Entities Implementing Activities in the Sphere of Combating Trafficking in Human Beings”.
