The USAID HIV/AIDS Reform project in partnership with Deloitte published a situational analysis on the state of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and response measures in the city of Kaniv and Kaniv district, Cherkasy region.

The purpose of the publication was to analyze the situation regarding the spread of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the region, to identify the main problems of the implementation of measures to prevent and combat the epidemic, and to propose possible solutions. The study carried out in-depth analysis and generalization of information on the state of the epidemic of HIV infection and other socially dangerous diseases, health care systems and provision of services related to HIV/AIDS in the Kaniv district and Kaniv city of Cherkasy region in 2011 to 2015.

Recommendations for improving and ensuring the sustainability of vital medical and social services related to HIV infection have been formed. The publication will be of interest to specialists working in the field of HIV/AIDS, government officials, local council deputies, employees and volunteers of non-governmental organizations, heads of enterprises, organizations, healthcare facilities, education and science, as well as the general public who want to learn more about the social aspects of the epidemic and ways to overcome it.
