Throughout the year, the NGO “From Heart to Heart” held intensive working meetings with government officials within the framework of the National Project “Supporting the Sustainable Response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic at the regional level by advocating the transition to public financing of care and support services for HIV-infected people, and prevention of HIV infection”, which is implemented by the NGO” Light of Hope” with the support of other Network of NGOs. The goal of the project is to provide quality and continuous services to people living with HIV/AIDS. The results of the advocacy work are two:

1. Amendments to the Oblast Program “Care” for 2014-2020, concerning the financing of “Social Services for the Prevention of Injection Drug Users, Alcohol Addicts and Promoting Improving the Quality of Life of Service Recipients with Chronic Illnesses (in particular, HIV-infected and AIDS patients) and improving cooperation and interaction with local and regional authorities.

2. Purchased rapid HIV tests for budget funds in 12 districts of Cherkasy region for a total of 102,285,76 UAH.

During the project implementation, as well as technical, consulting support of the NGO “Light of Hope”, a number of meetings were held with representatives of the authorities and profile structures in order to make social services for vulnerable people of high quality and permanent in Cherkasy region.
